Essence (2023)

The choreographer incorporates cups as props, drawing inspiration from Moginum, a traditional communal drinking ritual in Sabah. Set in a wet, slippery environment, the piece explores a drunk-like quality in movement. As a work in progress, it experiments with the symbolism of cups and drinking culture—not to glorify intoxication, but to tap into its essence as a means of connection to a higher state of being.
